THIS CLASS IS FULL.
We all experience painful habits of body and mind – whether they are mental obsessions, intense emotional patterns or problematic body tensions. When we identify ourselves with these patterns and take them to be ourselves we get caught in the vicious cycle of attachment. We are tossed back and forth between not liking what is here and craving relief through repeating addictive patterns of some sort. Meditation and yoga unties the knot of attachment so the natural silence and clarity of mind and heart can be revealed.
Recent studies in the field of science are revealing the plasticity of the brain- meaning that we can change negative thought patterns and behavior with practice. Science is catching up with what spiritual practitioners already know!
In this workshop, Jill and Loch will show how simple experiential meditation and yoga practices can help us relieve addictive knots in the body and mind. We will explore yoga postures with visualization techniques, body scanning to bring awareness to the body, open focus meditation to bring spaciousness to the mind, wisdom heart practices, and witnessing thoughts and emotions with out reactions. By addressing our hearts, bodies and minds we can pull up the tap root of habit and discover the natural joy in living.
